These terms cover use of the UMA website, planning workspace, Memory QR and related services.
About UMA and these terms
These terms form the agreement between you and UMA Events when you create an account or use the service. They apply alongside the privacy and cookie notices. Business contact, complaint and privacy requests can be submitted through the support and enquiry form. Nothing in these terms removes rights that UK consumer law gives you.
Your account
You must be at least 18 to create an account. You are responsible for activity in your account, for keeping access secure and for keeping your email address current. Tell UMA promptly if you suspect unauthorised access. Use UMA only for lawful event-planning purposes.
Your content
You keep ownership of the event information and content you add. You give UMA a limited permission to host, process, display and transmit that content only as needed to provide, secure and support the service. This permission ends when the content is deleted, subject to limited operational copies and legal obligations.
RSVP invitations
Event owners are responsible for sending each private RSVP link only to intended guests and for using guest responses appropriately. Guests must provide accurate information, obtain permission before responding for another person and avoid including unnecessary sensitive information. Event owners can pause or replace an RSVP link, and UMA may limit abusive or automated submissions.
Guest itineraries
Event owners choose the information included in a shared guest itinerary and are responsible for keeping it accurate and appropriate to share. A private itinerary link may be opened, printed or saved by anyone who receives it. Owners should replace or pause the link if it is shared more widely than intended.
Venue maps and directions
Venue search and map previews use Google Maps. Your use of those features is also subject to the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms and Google’s applicable service terms. Directions opened in Google Maps, Apple Maps or Waze are provided by those services; always check the route and venue details before travelling.
Memory QR event owners
The event owner controls the private guest link and is responsible for sharing it appropriately, securing access to the owner portal and moderating the event gallery. Before inviting uploads, the owner must have a lawful basis to collect guest content and must explain how it will be used. The owner may hide, download or delete guest submissions from the portal.
Memory QR contributors
By uploading a photo, short video or message, you confirm that you have the right and any necessary consent to submit it. You allow UMA and the event owner to store, display, download and otherwise use the submission for that private event gallery. Do not upload unlawful, abusive, deceptive, privacy-invasive or rights-infringing material, malware, or content involving a child without appropriate authority and consent.
Memory QR packages and limits
Memory QR packages are one-off purchases for one event. Memory QR includes 10 GB for photos and short videos, up to 500 messages, three months of guest uploads and gallery access. Memory QR Plus includes 30 GB for photos and short videos, up to 1,500 messages, six months of guest uploads and gallery access. There is no separate photo or video count limit; media uploading stops when the package period or storage allowance is reached. Package periods, upload-closing and expiry dates are shown in the owner portal.
Premium membership
UMA Premium is offered at £4.99 per month or £50 per year unless a different price is clearly shown before purchase. A membership renews for the selected billing period until cancelled. You can cancel in account settings before the next payment is taken and keep access until the end of the paid period. Reactivation starts a new renewal cycle. Test access provided without charge does not create a paid renewal and may be withdrawn or reset before payment checkout launches.
Orders, payment and cancellation
Before a paid order is placed, UMA will show the product, total price, billing period, renewal terms and any event-specific limits. A paid order is not complete until payment is confirmed, and a confirmation will be provided in a form you can keep. Where a statutory cancellation right applies, UMA will honour it. If you ask for immediate access during a cancellation period, the amount refundable may reflect service already supplied where the law permits. Refund requests and service problems can be raised through UMA support.
Expiry and availability
Guest uploads stop when uploads are paused, the upload-closing date passes or a package limit is reached. Gallery access ends at package expiry. Content is not intended as a permanent backup and may remain for a limited operational period while removal processes complete, so the owner is responsible for downloading anything they wish to keep. UMA may remove prohibited content or restrict access to protect the service and its users.
The planning service
UMA provides organisational tools and may offer separate personal planning support. Availability and features may change as the service develops. Important bookings, payments and supplier agreements should always be confirmed directly with the relevant provider.
Availability and changes
UMA aims to keep the service available but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. Planned maintenance, urgent security work, internet failures and provider outages may affect availability. UMA may improve, replace or discontinue a feature, but will take reasonable steps to avoid materially reducing a paid service during its current paid period or will offer an appropriate remedy where required.
Fair use
Do not misuse the service, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorised access, share a private link for abusive purposes or add content that infringes another person’s rights. Access or uploads may be limited where necessary to protect UMA or other users.
Suspension and ending access
UMA may suspend access where reasonably necessary to investigate misuse, protect people or systems, comply with law or address unpaid charges once paid checkout is active. UMA will explain the reason where appropriate and allow a reasonable opportunity to resolve it. You may stop using UMA at any time and can request account deletion, subject to records UMA must retain by law.
Responsibility and liability
UMA provides planning and sharing tools, not legal, financial, safety or supplier advice. You remain responsible for checking event details, permissions, guest communications, bookings and downloads. UMA does not exclude liability that cannot legally be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or breach of mandatory consumer rights. Otherwise, UMA is not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the agreement was made or for business losses suffered by a consumer.
Law and complaints
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you also keep any mandatory protections and may bring proceedings in the courts available to you under applicable law. Please contact UMA support first so the issue can be reviewed and given a reference number.
Changes to these terms
UMA may update these terms to reflect service, security or legal changes. Material changes affecting an active paid service will be explained in advance where reasonably possible. Continuing to use the service after an effective change means the updated terms apply, but changes will not remove rights already accrued.
